In chapter 10, Paul reminds the believers of Israel’s history.
Again, he explains the cost of freedom. Verse 23 says, “‘I have the right do anything,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’ – but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.”-----

S1 Ep103 - 1 Corinthians 11

Chapter 11 is a powerful reminder of how we should take communion. We need to examine ourselves first. We should also be mindful of participating in the Lord’s Supper with our own private suppers. “As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk.” (v.21)-----

S1 Ep104 - 1 Corinthians 12

One of my favorite concepts is found in this chapter. Verse 4 says, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.”
Verse 21 says, “The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ An the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’”
All of our gifts and talents are different, and all are needed – especially while we’re on this earth.-----

S1 Ep105 - 1 Corinthians 13

One of the most quoted chapters – even among unbelievers – in 1 Corinthians is chapter 13.
Verses 4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”-----

This chapter talks about how and when to speak in tongues during worship service.
It’s interesting that some faiths don’t believe speaking in tongues is allowed. Others believe if you don’t speak in tongues, you’re not a true believer.
This chapter doesn’t say either of those things.-----

Paul asks that the believers set aside a certain amount of money to help other believers who come through.
Such selfless acts were common at this time. Many churches continue this practice, thank goodness.-----

S1 Ep109 - Hosea 1

This is an interesting book of the Bible. In it, God instructs Hosea to marry a prostitute as an illustration for how Israel has perverted itself and become unfaithful. 
Verse 2: “When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, ‘Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.’”-----
